One downside of the Redline 360c is that it can be sluggish to alert to brief signals despite the marketing claims. The integrated GPS also alerts you to fixed red light and speed cameras. Its arrows help locate the source of the threat, it can share alerts in realtime with other drivers, it’s almost completely plug-and-play, it’s completely undetectable to radar detector detectors, and it can continue to keep itself updated over time over WiFi. It makes for an excellent all-around detector and was my go-to detector prior to the release of the Uniden R8. That said, it offers long range performance, excellent filtering to reduce false alerts, GPS built in with auto lockouts to make it more plug-and-play, Bluetooth to extend its functionality, and simple ways to keep it updated right in your car. Poor responsiveness against certain radar guns.It ticks just about every box you could want. It’s a long range detector with arrows, good false alert filtering, and some of the best hands-free automation. The Escort Redline 360c is a top pick for a long range plug-and-play radar detector on the market. Note: Due to a recently discovered issue with alert responsiveness, I’m currently pausing my recommendation for the Redline 360c until Escort fully resolves the issue. If I had to run just one radar detector, the Uniden R8 would be it.Įscort Redline 360c: Best Plug-and-Play Radar Detector ($799) The bluetooth is still deactivated right now and someone is working on an Android app for the detector, but there’s still no concrete ETA for that to be released.ĭespite its weaknesses, I find it does an excellent job at letting you know when there’s radar around you while still filtering out many false alerts. Uniden also isn’t releasing any apps for the detector, despite it having Bluetooth built-in. Most people don’t need this feature, but if you do need a stealth detector, you’ll want a R元60c or V1 Gen2 instead. It is also detectable by radar detector detectors at close range. The arrows work well, the front facing mute button is a nice upgrade over the R7, and it even now tells you which laser gun the officer is using when they target you with laser.Īs far as downsides, the automatic GPS lockouts don’t work well so you’ll want to manually lock out stationary false alerts by double pressing the mute button when you pass speed signs and automatic door openers. It’s a top notch performer against all forms of police radar. In short I run it because it offers long range on both K and Ka band with its new low noise amplifiers (LNA’s) while also being responsive to brief and quick radar shots on both K and Ka (unlike the Redline 360c and V1 Gen2). It offers great range and responsiveness, good false alert filtering, arrows, GPS features, plus bonus capabilities like photo radar detection and bluetooth. My personal go-to detector is now the Uniden R8.
